Teacher's Explanation

Important issues to bear in mind

Neither John nor his friends are going to the beach today.
Neither John nor his friend is going to the beach today.

Either Mary or her mom studies English.
Either Mary or her parents study English.

He was neither interested nor excited.

He wasn't either interested  or  excited.

AND…

He is not only talented but also handsome (Ambos son adjetivos)
She plays not only the guitar but also the violin (Ambos son sustantivos)
I write not only correctly but also neatly (Ambos son adverbios)
They are good not only at Mathematics but also at English (Ambas son frases proposicionales)
